Never have the words "Say their name" rung more true than when speaking of babies gone too soon.

Maila, pronounced My-lah, is the beloved daughter of Helena Morais and Robert Viana Sacramento. Her father chose her name, which means "beautiful sea," inspired by Marley, as in Bob Marley.

The significance of Maila’s name became even more significant when, on the day of her funeral, her parents were awoken by over 10 seagulls. Maila was so wanted, loved dearly and is extremely missed. She had her favorites too, like Feta cheese and Jhene Aiko’s “Sing to Me.”

There was so much anticipation, hope, and dreams for this precious baby.

Just four weeks before Maila’s expected arrival, Helena went into labor. Despite being in "perfect health", their world completely collapsed when they arrived in hospital ready to birth their baby and instead were told their baby girl “hadn’t made it” and was stillborn at 36 weeks and 5 days on December 29th, 2022.
